Gender-based violence against women in Ghana. Perspectives from the University of Ghana
Mufunda, Svodai
Background: Gender-based violence against women is a global pandemic that violates human rights. This abuse is prevalent among women and girls and adversely impacts their physical well-being, empowerment, and social welfare. GBV against women is influenced by structural gender inequalities and GBV occurrence also widens gender inequalities. Objectives: The study sought to examine the socio-economic impact of GBV on women’s socio-economic status based on a study perspective from the University of Ghana’s Social Work master’s students. The study also sought to ascertain the prevalent forms of GBV against women in Ghana and identify achievements that have been made to protect women from GBV and also to assess legal frameworks and policies available to address GBV against women. Method: The study employed a mixed-method research design and utilized primary data through which semi-structured interviews or questionnaires were responded to by the study respondents. Purposive sampling was used in selecting the 98 respondents of this study. Results: The study reviewed that GBV against women is a serious human rights and development problem with lethal economic and social effects on women. The study highlighted that IPV is the most prevalent form of GBV suffered by women in Ghana. The study also identified the DVA of 2007 as one of the biggest achievements made toward addressing GBV in Ghana. However, several obstacles including poor law enforcement, cultural biases, lack of adequate infrastructure and resources, and poverty have reduced the effectiveness of legislation and institutions governing GBV against women in Ghana and these have also impeded GBV reduction and its effects on women.
System Balanced Scorecard and possibilities of its using in a certain firm
VRCHOTA, Jaroslav
The Balanced Scorecard method is a very young and up-to-date method. It is a marketing synthesis, assessment of internal processes, financing and economy, innovation and growth of the company with a strong relation to the strategy and measuring company efficiency. The objective of this Diploma thesis was to show the reality that Balanced Scorecard is a useful tool, which can transform strategy to the real form, achieve a complex view on the whole company and get to know what is hidden on the background of financial results. In the thesis the stress is put on defining the targets and their initerrelation. Holding organized companies of MOTOR JIKOV Group, where I worked on my Diploma thesis, do not use the concept of Balanced Scorecard yet. Despite this, their priority is to have the whole balanced system of assessment of company performance and they do not to prefer only financial indicators. They try to include even other ``perspectives`` (as in BSC spheres of interests are shown) - fellow-workers (perspective of learning and growth), customers and internal company processes.

In recent years, the topic of people's employability on the labour market has become increasingly important in the context of its dynamic transformation due to globalisation and technological progress. The way to prepare young people in education and the adult population for these changes is the subject of career guidance worldwide. Surprisingly, this topic is currently not very resonating among the actors in the Czech Republic and is not considered as a priority of educational policy, even though it is a major focus of European educational strategies. The objective of this dissertation is to gain insight into the beliefs held by the actors in the Czech educational system regarding the topics addressed by career guidance. The dissertation uses data from the 2019 Delphi survey among the actors in education and applies a phenomenographic approach for its secondary analysis. Based on The Advocacy Coalition Framework, this thesis also aims to discover if it is possible to identify certain opinion groups among these actors. The result of this research offers a map of actors' perceptions on this issue. At the same time, it shows that there are at least two large groups of actors whose views have significant disagreements based on their core beliefs. The output of this dissertation also provides...
